The Beachcomber Running Club was formed in 2003 for the purpose of offering runners in our community the opportunity to run together, to promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and to nurture a sense of community and camaraderie through running and events.  Our goal is not to put  on events to raise money for our club but to have the opportunity to raise funds that will benefit the youth in our community.  We strive to increase interest in cardiovascular exercise; put on a quality event for runners; raise funds for our youth in scholarship monies, generate a spirit of community involvement and volunteerism and promote and publicize the Paint The Towne 5K.

The Beachcomber Running Clubs signature event provides a  well organized and conducted 5K foot race on a certified course which runs through beautiful historic old Daytona.  The race is well known for its beautiful and colorful long sleeve t-shirts and stunning awards.  Shirts will be guaranteed to all pre-registered runners. The morning also includes a Kids Fun Run on the baseball diamond of the Daytona Tortugas.  All of this combined with sports massage, live music, drawings, complimentary beer l and the usual fruit & bagels - promises to be a morning of fun for the entire family. Gold Sponsors  are The Sullivan Family, Brown & Brown Insurance, The Daytona Tortugas, Halifax Health and Kathleen B. Doughney, M.D.

Paint The Towne 5K provides scholarships to cross country and track & field students in Volusia & Flagler Counties.
