•  Prediction Run/Lisa's Run • 

'Take 2'

The Prediction Fun Run was originally scheduled for June 2, 2007 at 4:00 pm.  That morning Tropical Storm Barry started making its way to our area so the run was rescheduled from the beach to City Island on July 8! 
   
4:00 in the afternoon in July anywhere in Florida it's gonna be HOT!  And it was!  But, 100+ came out and supported the fun run and enjoyed the gourmet meal of good ole hot dogs, Sonny's Bar-B-Que beans, chips & cake!  Chef Mike Cain & Kayle Fisher did an excellent job in preparing the  dogs.
     
     

Runners left their watches, GPS and all timing devices behind!  The runner that would predict his or her closest predicted time would be declared the winner!  This was not for the fastest or the swift but to the smartest!

The 2.7 mile course started on City Island, proceeded around the library, across the foot bridge then onto Beach Street where it took a right onto the ISB Bridge.  Over the bridge, then turning  south on Peninsula Drive to Silver Beach, right at the Silver Beach Bridge.....over the bridge, finishing back at City Island!
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     

The kids had a great time playing on the playground!  The car was the favorite!
     
     
     
     
     

The Myer family were the big winners of the afternoon!  It was a father/daughter for the male & female winners.  Michael Myers was the first male.  His predicted time was 27:50, actual time was 27:39, a difference of 11 seconds.  9 year old daughter Sarah predicted she would run 27:50, her actual time was 27:38, a 12 second difference.  A $50.00 gift certificate to Outback SteakHouse was awarded to the first male & female!  The Myers graciously passed one of the certificates onto 2nd place overall winner, Fred Barney. 

     
     
     
9 year old Hannah Tabor was the first female in the 1 Mile Fun Run (which was not a predicted time event)  Her time was 9:0l.  The first male in the Fun Run was 6 year old Brook Chance who was also our youngest participant!
     
     
     

Times varied with Judy Krodel being 23:23 minutes off her predicted time in the ladies category and Robert Grech being 15:11 away from his predicted time.  Both were awarded the 'bringing up the rear' award.
     
     

Several drawings were held with many winning some great prizes.  Monica Vann was the winner of a massage from Rick Smith, Carlos Andrade & Dirk Pflueler both won  $50.00 gift certificates from Spikes, Mark Krodel won a $25.00 gift certificate to Bubba Gumps, Rodney Bookhardt & Ken Vanslette both won $25.00 gift certificates to Mudd Monkey.  There were 30 gift certificates in the drawing.
     
     
  Kevin Keating was the fastest male with a time of 17:37 & Stacey Scrabis was the fastest female, 18:16!  Speed didn't count this time but it was a good workout!
